This study determined the concentration of magnesium hydroxide and acid neutralizing power of three antacid brands: Maalox, Kremil-S, and Geltazine. Sodium hydroxide was standardized using potassium hydrogen phthalate. The antacids were then back-titrated with sodium hydroxide. Kremil-S neutralized the most hydrochloric acid at 0.04608 moles per gram and was recommended for severe hyperacidity. Geltazine neutralized the least at 0.03903 moles per gram.
