The document describes the taxonomic characterization of a new thermophilic actinomycete genus, Gandjariella, isolated from forest soil near geothermal areas in Indonesia. Six strains were isolated and strain SL3-2-4T was selected as the type strain. Analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that the new genus was phylogenetically related to but distinct from members of the family Pseudonocardiaceae. Phenotypic tests were performed to characterize the new genus.
