Jane Goodall, born on April 3, 1934, in London, developed a passion for animals early in life, inspired by her mother. She first went to Africa at age 23, where she studied chimpanzees in Gombe National Park for 20 years, discovering their complex social structures and tool use, which challenged previous notions of human uniqueness. In 1965, she earned a doctorate from Cambridge and later founded the Jane Goodall Institute, gaining worldwide recognition for her work.
