What is Impact of Spectral Bands on EuroSAT ViT about?

This paper investigates the impact of spectral bands on satellite image classification using Vision Transformers (ViT), comparing models trained on RGB, RGB & Near Infrared (NIR), and a multispectral dataset of 13 bands. Results indicate that incorporating the NIR band with RGB improves classification accuracy, while the 13-band dataset outperforms both RGB and RGB & NIR models. The findings highlight the importance of spectral band selection in enhancing the performance of satellite image classification mo
