The Supreme Court dismissed the petition of Coseteng v Mitra. The Court found that the composition of House members in the Commission on Appointments was chosen on the basis of proportional representation of political parties in the House, as required by the Constitution. Eighty percent of House seats went to the political party with most members, and the remaining seats were allocated to the second largest party and principal opposition party.
