What is Modeling and Comprehensive Analysis of Food Waste Gasification Process for Hydrogen Production about?

To realize the utilization of food waste, a novel hydrogen production process for food waste gasification is proposed in this study, which converts food waste into hydrogen. Using Aspen Plus, the effects of gasification temperature and regional differences on the hydrogen production capacity were studied. It was found that the hydrogen capacity was improved by increasing temperature, while the regional effect was not significant. Based on the simulation results, a comprehensive evaluation of the hydrogen production process was conducted by analyzing exergy efficiency, economic benefits, and environmental costs to further explore the feasibility of the process. The exergy results show that the total exergy efficiency of this process is 64.86%, indicating a high energy conversion efficiency. From the economic perspective and based on economic indicators such as material consumption, production cost, and total capital investment, the total capital investment of the process is 1.61×107 USD. Furthermore, the potential for environmental protection is evaluated by analyzing the global warming and acidification potentials of the hydrogen production process. The hydrogen production capacity
