About this document

Understanding Fear in D&D 5E by edd.itami is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Spells, magic items, and monsters can induce various fear, sickness, sleep, and exhaustion conditions in characters. These conditions impose penalties on attacks, saves, skills and ability checks. More severe conditions may cause a character to flee in terror or become helpless. Effects are cumulative, so a character made frightened while already shaken becomes panicked instead.
