Utah State Senate President Wayne Niederhauser announced that he will not seek re-election at the end of his current term. After carefully evaluating the pros and cons, Niederhauser felt it was time to step away to avoid thinking he was indispensable. Niederhauser thanked his constituents for their support over the past 11 years. He also expressed gratitude to his Senate colleagues and staff for their friendship and for taking a chance on him as Senate President over the past six years.
