What is Rizal about?

Rizal received his early education in Calamba and Biñan from both informal teachers like his mother Doña Teodora and private tutors. He then went to study in Biñan in 1869, lodging with his aunt and attending the school of Maestro Justiniano Aquino Cruz. While there, Rizal excelled in his studies and other activities like painting lessons, though he also got into fights with other students. He finished his primary education in Biñan in December 1870 before leaving for further studies in Manila.
