What is Haloalkanes and Haloarenes Overview about?

Haloalkanes are alkanes containing halogen atoms. Haloarenes contain an aromatic ring with halogen atoms. They are classified based on the number of halogen atoms as monohalo, dihalo, or trihalo compounds. Haloalkanes/haloarenes can be aliphatic or aromatic. Aliphatic compounds contain a sp3 C-X bond while aromatic contain a sp2 C-X bond. Examples include allylic, benzylic, vinyl, and aryl halides. Nomenclature follows IUPAC rules of longest chain, functional groups, and alphabetical order of halogens.
