The Loughton Methodist Church installed a 100kW ground source heat pump with eight 160m boreholes to provide all of its heating needs in a carbon neutral way. The heat pump is inverter-driven and modulating, allowing outputs between 25-100kW depending on temperatures. It provides heating to existing radiator circuits without needing a buffer tank. This system qualifies for the non-domestic Renewable Heat Incentive.
