This pilot study compares the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) in treating major depressive disorder (MDD) in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). Both treatment modalities resulted in improved quality of life and reduced depression symptoms after 12 weeks, with no significant differences in outcomes between the two groups.
