About this document
Main Bearing Vibration Analysis Guide by alvaroinc04 is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Main bearing analysis can identify issues beyond just bad main bearings. Any excessive looseness in main bearings, connecting rods, pins, bushings, or piston assemblies can be detected as they transmit vibrations through the crankshaft and out the main bearing saddles. Vibration test points should be placed at each main bearing to analyze acceleration data in the time and frequency domains for signs of impacts or abnormal vibration levels that indicate component deterioration.
