The story follows a boy named Bayazid, who is found alone in the streets of Rawalpindi after possibly being abandoned. Taken in by Karim Khan, the owner of a tea-and-curry stall, Bayazid grows up working at the stall while developing a passion for reading and cooking. As he matures, he observes the lives of wealthier college boys, aspiring to better himself while navigating his own identity and circumstances.
