Soil water content and evapotranspiration were studied in three plantations of Pinus radiata and a natural meadow. The study areas included a 26-year-old plantation with 733 trees/ha, a 9-year-old conventionally managed plantation with 1392 trees/ha, a 9-year-old tree farming plantation with 443 trees/ha, and a natural meadow.
