What is Sambandar about?

Sambandar was a 7th century Tamil Saiva poet-saint. He is considered one of the most prominent of the 63 Nayanars. His hymns to Shiva were collected in the first three volumes of the Tirumurai. According to texts, Sambandar converted the Pandyan King and many others to Saivism and brought two people back to life through his hymns.
