## Abstract The geometrical foundations of ‘pseudoasymmetry’ and several other related concepts of organic stereochemistry such as ‘prochirality’ and ‘propseudoasymmetry’ in two‐ and three‐dimensional space have been explored. As a consequence some modifications of the __R,S__ system for specification of molecular chirality and stereoisomerism are proposed.
