Lip Support in Maxillary Dentures: Flanged vs. Flangeless by An Do is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study investigates the differences in lip support between maxillary dentures with and without labial flanges in edentulous patients. A total of 31 patients were analyzed using facial soft tissue markers, revealing minimal and clinically insignificant differences in lip support when comparing the two denture types. The findings suggest that the removal of the labial flange does not significantly affect lip support, which is important for treatment planning in prosthodontics.
