What is Society and Culture in Viceroyalty Era about?

The society of the Viceroyalty of Peru was divided into social classes. The castes were social groups originating from racial mixing that occupied an intermediate position in the social hierarchy. Culture, art, music, literature, theater, architecture, and sculpture received Spanish and Italian influences. The Catholic Church played an important role in the evangelization of the indigenous people and in the sponsorship of the arts.
