What is Fundamental Duties about?
Fundamental Duties are outlined in Part IV-A of the Indian Constitution under Article 51A, representing the moral and civic obligations of Indian citizens. Initially absent from the Constitution, they were introduced through the 42nd Amendment in 1976, which included 10 duties, and later expanded to 11 with the 86th Amendment in 2002. These duties are non-justiciable, applicable only to citizens, and aim to promote patriotism and national unity.
