This study investigates the risk of serious upper gastrointestinal (GI) events associated with the concurrent use of selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in the Finnish population from 2000 to 2004. The findings indicate that the adjusted odds ratio for serious upper GI events is significantly higher for patients using both SSRIs and NSAIDs compared to those using NSAIDs alone.
