The legend of Sangkuriang tells the story of a god and goddess transformed into animals who have a daughter, Dayang Sumbi, after a chance encounter. Dayang Sumbi marries her true form, Tumang, and they have a son, Sangkuriang, who unknowingly kills his father and is later banished by his mother. Upon returning as a warrior, Sangkuriang attempts to marry Dayang Sumbi, but after a series of events, he creates Mount Tangkuban Perahu as a result of his anger and the tragic fate of their love.
