Atang de la Rama was a Filipino singer and actress known for her performances in sarsuela (a Spanish opera genre) and for bringing Filipino culture to international audiences. She regularly performed for audiences across the Philippines, as well as in major cities around the world. In 1987, she was proclaimed a National Artist of the Philippines for her contributions to Filipino theater and music. Atang de la Rama passed away in 1991.
