This case study describes the rehabilitation of the Stenton Avenue Bridge, a 1914 two-span masonry arch bridge over the Wissahickon Creek. The bridge was in critical condition with deteriorating stonework. The project replaced the earth fill with lightweight concrete, reconstructed the stone parapets with reinforced concrete cores, and added a new concrete moment slab and barriers.
