What is Women’s Unpaid Role in Bangladesh Aquaculture about?

Women play an important but often unpaid role in aquaculture in Bangladesh. The study surveyed 88 women across 6 districts and found that most women are involved in fish polyculture activities like feeding, monitoring, and harvesting. However, women have limited access to resources and opportunities in society. The roles of women in aquaculture could be expanded to empower women and increase household incomes if gender inequalities are addressed.
