What is Oral LCH in Malaysian Children Study about?
This study retrospectively analyzed 17 cases of oral Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) diagnosed in Malaysian children between 1967-2007. The majority of cases presented as gingival swellings involving the mandible and were Malays between ages 1-7. Other common symptoms included skin lesions, hepatosplenomegaly, and fever. While the histopathologic features of LCH are easily recognized, immunostaining for CD1a helps confirm the diagnosis.
