This study examined the relationship between burnout and perceived medical errors among surgeons. The researchers surveyed 203 surgeons and measured their levels of burnout using the abbreviated Maslach Burnout Inventory. They found that higher levels of emotional exhaustion, a dimension of burnout, were associated with a greater number of perceived medical errors over the past 3 months.
