Margaret Stiefvater is an American author born in Virginia. As a child, she was interested in flying and racing and was an avid reader and writer. She began submitting manuscripts at age 16 and studied history in college, where she had already written over 30 novels. After college, she worked as an equestrian portrait artist. She published her first novel in 2008 and has since published several successful book series, including The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy. She is also a musician and artist.
