This study analyzed drinking water quality in Mexico City based on samples collected from April to December 1989. 63 locations were sampled, with 209 total samples taken from municipal water intakes, cisterns, roof tanks, and kitchen taps. Water quality was analyzed based on physical, chemical and biological parameters. The results showed that water quality at municipal intakes was good in 53% of cases, but quality deteriorated during distribution via tank trucks or local wells. Water inside homes was often
