About this document

Fingerprint Matching Algorithms Analysis by Mirko is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Fingerprint recognition algorithms use either minutiae features like ridge endings and bifurcations or non-minutiae features like ridge frequency, orientation, and curvature to calculate match scores. The study analyzed two such algorithms on a fingerprint dataset. One user showed phantom-like behavior for both algorithms due to unusually low ridge frequency causing unreliable minutiae extraction. Another user was easy to authenticate for both algorithms because enrollments had large, clear ridge structures
