This study validates the GrowSafe feed alley monitoring system for tracking the feeding behavior of dairy cows in loose housing. The system showed high agreement with time-lapse video observations in measuring meal frequency and duration, although some discrepancies were noted in detecting cow presence. Overall, the GrowSafe system is deemed a reliable method for monitoring individual cow attendance at the feed alley.
