This study investigated the effects of pretreatment with the dopamine D2 antagonist haloperidol on the psychological and physiological responses to MDMA (Ecstasy) in healthy volunteers. The study used a double-blind, placebo-controlled design to examine the effects of haloperidol (1.4 mg IV) or placebo followed by MDMA (1.5 mg/kg oral) or placebo. Psychological effects were measured using standardized scales. Physiological effects such as blood pressure, heart rate, and body temperature were also measured.
