Understanding Peritonitis: Causes & Symptoms by adi chandra is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Peritonitis is inflammation of the peritoneum that can be caused by bacterial or viral infections. Most cases are bacterial and result from gastrointestinal tract pathology or injury that allows bacteria to enter the peritoneal cavity. Localized peritonitis occurs when adhesions form to contain the infection to one area, while generalized peritonitis happens when a large amount of bacteria enters the cavity quickly and spreads.
