Wind Resource Modeling in Complex Terrain by carlosmpssantos is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study evaluates wind resources in complex terrain in Portugal using the WRF mesoscale and WAsP microscale models. Three methodologies were tested, with the second approach yielding results closest to actual measurements, suggesting that mesoscale data can serve as a valid alternative for preliminary wind assessments. The findings indicate that while mesoscale models offer advantages, caution is needed in their application due to terrain complexity.
