This study aimed to produce a biodegradable plastic using cassava (Manihot esculenta) starch as the main ingredient. Cassava starch was mixed with water, vinegar, and glycerin. The resulting plastic was biodegradable, acquiring mechanical properties of a bioplastic. It was found to degrade faster than commercial plastic. Based on the results, cassava starch is a promising alternative for producing biodegradable plastics due to its availability, low cost, and biodegradability.
