This document discusses a study that used several techniques to determine the firing temperatures of ancient pottery samples excavated from Adichanallur, Tamilnadu, South India. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to determine the lower limit of firing temperatures. Porosimetry measurements provided the upper limit.
