What is Zinc Deficiency and Atopy in Obese Youth about?

This study compared 23 obese children with atopy to 23 obese children without atopy. It found that the group with atopy had significantly lower serum zinc levels and spent more time watching TV than the control group. Additionally, having a dog or cat at home was significantly associated with atopy. However, there were no significant differences between the groups in terms of sex, age, height, weight, education level, physical activity, exposure to traffic or cigarette smoke, or history of food allergy.
