About this document
Decision Making Terminal Pat by Solomon Hamburg is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study assessed the decision-making capacity of terminally ill cancer patients using the MacArthur Competence Assessment Tool for Treatment (MacCAT-T). Results showed that while most patients could express a treatment choice, significant impairments were observed in understanding, appreciation, and reasoning. The findings highlight the need for comprehensive advance directives, as physicians often fail to detect the impairments identified by the MacCAT-T.
