This document compares the sensitivity and specificity of direct and floatation methods for detecting helminth infections. Two types of helminths were found: Ascaris lumbricoides and Trichuris trichiura. The direct method had higher sensitivity for detecting A. lumbricoides eggs while the floatation method had higher sensitivity for detecting T. trichiura eggs. Both methods had 100% specificity for detecting both types of eggs. There was a correlation found between infection intensity and detection results
