Multiple drugs ## Pericarditis with pericardial effusion and lack of efficacy: case report A man in his 60s [exact age at reaction onset not stated] exhibited lack of efficacy during treatment with fluorouracil, folinic-acid, oxaliplatin, paclitaxel and ramucirumab for oesophageal adenocarcinoma, and developed pericarditis with pericardial effusion during treatment with pembrolizumab [routes and dosages not stated]. The man was diagnosed with stage IV poorly differentiated oesophageal adenocarcinoma with metastasis to the lungs and mediastinum and received initial treatment with fluorouracil, folinic-acid [leucovorin], oxaliplatin, ramucirumab and paclitaxel regimens. However, no response was observed. Hence, treatment with pembrolizumab was initiated 10 months after diagnosis, and he had received 2 doses. A month after pembrolizumab therapy, he presented with acute chest pain radiating to left arm. on physical examination, he was tachycardiac and heart sounds were distant. An EKG demonstrated sinus tachycardia, but serial troponins were negative. His chest CT scan showed progressive metastases and pericardial effusion.
