What is Benigno Aquino about?

Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. held several political positions in the Philippines at an unusually young age, becoming the youngest mayor and vice governor. He warned of Ferdinand Marcos establishing a garrison state and was later arrested under martial law. After years in prison, he went to the US for surgery but returned to the Philippines and was assassinated upon arrival. His wife Corazon Aquino then led opposition against Marcos and was elected president after protests ousted Marcos in 1986.
