About this document

Overview of the Amorite Kingdom by shamonemahan is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The Amorites were an ancient Northwest Semitic-speaking people from the Levant who expanded throughout Mesopotamia and parts of Egypt from around 2100 BC to 1600 BC. They established prominent city-states like Babylon, Isin, Larsa, Mari, and Ebla. The Amorites spoke a Northwest Semitic language closely related to Canaanite and Aramaic. They were later absorbed by other Semitic groups like the Arameans after losing control of Mesopotamia to the Kassites and Assyrians in the 16th century BC.
