This study aims to develop an interpretable machine learning model for recognizing dementia using brain images. The researchers introduce a Takagi-Sugeno-Kang fuzzy classifier that can generate fuzzy rules to explain its reasoning process. They apply subspace clustering to the high-dimensional brain image data to learn concise antecedents for the fuzzy rules.
