Rogelio Regalado called out Edencito Chu from a tailoring shop and challenged his courage. When Chu emerged from a bakery and asked for forgiveness, Regalado stabbed him below the left nipple with a knife. As Chu fled, Regalado chased him with firewood and was joined by Jaime Lopez and Romeo Aragon. The three appellants caught up to Chu and beat and stabbed him until he died.
