What is Alienation and Love in 1960s London about?

Paul Roberts is a 19-year-old university student in 1960s London who joins the local tennis club for social opportunities. There, he is paired in a mixed doubles match with Susan MacLeod, a 48-year-old married woman with children older than Paul, and they begin an unlikely affair. Susan leaves her family to live with Paul, but with nothing to occupy her time, she falls into alcoholism and dementia.
