The Temple of the Sun in Modhera, India is dedicated to the Sun God Surya. Built in 1026-27 AD under the Solanki dynasty, it is considered one of the finest examples of Indian temple architecture of the period. The temple complex includes a large sacred pool called the Surya Kunda, and the main temple which is divided into a pillared hall and inner sanctuary.
