Chinese Manichaeism was a form of the Manichaean religion that was transmitted and practiced in China during the Tang dynasty. It believed in the eternal fight between good/light and evil/darkness. The most complete surviving Manichaean writings were found in Chinese and dated before the 9th century. Initially introduced as an improper form of Buddhism, Manichaeism grew prominent after the Uyghur Khaganate adopted it as the official religion in 763.
