This clinical trial aims to determine the efficacy, safety and immunogenicity of the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine in preventing COVID-19 in UK volunteers. Over 12,000 participants will be enrolled in 12 study groups to receive either one or two doses of the vaccine or a control vaccine. Participants will be followed for a year to assess vaccine effects. The trial began in May 2020 and is expected to be completed by December 2021.
