About this document

20-Item Shyness Assessment Scale by Azn_Jenn is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The document describes a 20-item shyness scale developed by Cheek and Melichor in 1985 to measure the three components of shyness. The scale consists of 20 statements about social behaviors and feelings that respondents rate on a 5-point scale from very uncharacteristic to very characteristic. Six items are reversed before scoring. When tested on 326 college students, the scale was found to have high internal consistency reliability of 0.94 and correlated strongly with an existing 9-item shyness scale. Late
