Bonfire Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Night, is celebrated in Britain on November 5th to commemorate the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605. People celebrate by making effigies called "guys" to burn on bonfires along with fireworks. The plot was led by Guy Fawkes to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill the Protestant King James I.
